A whopping 57% of votes had Derilion heading for the hatch in the roof, after she was awakened in the dead of night at the Ochil Tree tavern.

Well, as they say, what happens next is on you…

Choice Two

The hatch felt like the best option to Derilion, though on second look it wasn’t very wide, at all. It also looked a little higher than she could stretch, so she bent and started to push the bed across the floor to give her a leg up. As she did, a bolt of green flame shot through the door into the room. Instinctively, Derilion hit the floor, the bed between her and the attacker, as splinters rained down around her. She didn’t know what kind of magic that was, but she was fortunate to have not been in its way.

She paused for a moment, trying to hear through the ringing in her ears. Was someone waiting for her to get up so they could attack again?

Three seconds went by without incident, and a faint memory began to surface in the Lightbringer’s mind. Magic, especially strong magic like that, needed a while to create. The wielder would need to recharge before letting loose again. Perhaps that meant she’d be safe if she moved now.

She thought she heard footsteps running away, but it might just be echoes from the explosion. Frustrated, she knew she must decide quickly.
